Directives
A directive is the special committee version of a bill. These always require majority to pass, but they are much more numerous and less lengthy than bills are. However, directives need to be extremely specific. Vague orders will most likely result in miscommunication and disasters, which crisis will be looking for. Directives do not need a preamble and function mainly off of operating clauses. For formatting, please look at the examples below.
Types of Directives:
- Enforcement Action: Administrative measures, regulations or pieces of legislation that have the force of law. This may include, for example, emergency legal measures (depending on committee) or the removal of officials.
- Political Directives: Communication with local government organizations, leaders or allies in order to gather internal political support.
- Internal Communications: Communication with different parts of the government, usually to reinforce the committee’s policy position or telling other parts how to deal with the media.
- External Communications: Messages delivered to those outside of the government.
--Public Service Announcements: A propaganda tool that communicates to the general public and/or other branches of government on a wide-scale.
--Invitations and Requests: Direct invitations to meet with witnesses, politicians, prisoners and any other individuals.
- Military Directives: Ordering armed forces to do specific operations. Should include objectives and how the operation will be carried out.
--Sorties: Aircraft/ship deployment
- Intelligence Directives: Used to obtain covert information about another state.
--Sabotage: Instructs spies to deliberately try to weaken another country. Objective of sabotage must be specifically noted.
--Counter-Intelligence: Employs methods to prevent enemy intelligence organizations from using information collection or sabotage against you.
--Surveillance: Instructs spies to monitor a specific individual or group

Dear Mr. Phillip Hammond,
It has come to our attention that British naval forces are currently forming a blockade across the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea, and blocking United States naval vessels. This is a threat to both our national security as well as economic security and we will not take it lightly. We expect full compensation for damages to trade, as well as full reversal of the blockade. In your capacity as the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Defense, stop this nonsense or face consequences.
Sincerely,
The United States Cabinet
Public Service Announcements:
Proposing Member: Grace Headinger
Recent reports from news sources indicate that an alien spacecraft crashed through our atmosphere and landed somewhere in the desert near Las Vegas, Nevada. After investigation, the Department of Defense has issued a statement that the downed craft was a prototype Air Force research project. Unfortunately, it still needs some work. The Cabinet would like to extend regrets over the lives lost in the crash and dispel rumors of alien landings.
